The idea of work-life balance has been a highly sought-after, somewhat elusive goal for many over the years.

There are many facets to consider when pursuing this balance, such as the environment of your workplace, your co-workers, your boss, and the style of management used in your establishment.

Or, if you’re an entrepreneur, that’s a whole other ballpark.

Wherever you’re at, finding that balance between work and life can be difficult – but it doesn’t have to.

Before I begin, I’d like to acknowledge that I believe that much of this balance stems from the actual environment and company you work for; therefore, not all of the responsibility should fall on the shoulders of the employees.

I believe that businesses have an obligation to take care of their employees, and if they do, it would better the world all around.

That being said, there are things that you can do to facilitate more balance, easier transitions, more focus, and overall, less stress and a happier life.

So, how does Breathwork help work-life balance?

Stress Reduction and Relaxation

Consciously breathing helps to significantly reduce the stress levels in the body. Through your breath, you can bring your nervous system from a state of fight or flight to a state of rest, even when you have a long to-do list. You have more space to be more responsive, and therefore, it becomes easier to handle stressful situations when they arise.

Enhanced Focus and Productivity

Breathwork is extremely effective in increasing energy and clearing a foggy, tired mind. Breathing faster, more upregulated breaths can help your body to clear out the clutter and breathe in more clarity and calm – it’s like a master reset! This will help you be more efficient, productive, and effective at work, all with greater ease.

Mindful Transitions

If you’ve ever had a stressful day, you know that that transition time is essential. It’s a time to “defrag” and “decompress” and it can be difficult when you don’t get that time. Taking a couple of conscious breaths while you transition from work to home can help you let go of work stress and be more present in your personal life so that you (and your loved ones!) can feel more connected, loved and fulfilled.

Establish a Breathwork Routine

You may have heard that meditation is good for you, though it’s not always easy. Breathwork is a great way to mindfully connect to yourself while you focus on your breath. You can use Breathwork as an energizer in the morning, to de-stress or a pick-me-up in the middle of the day, and a way to relax at night.

Incorporating Breathwork into your routine helps all aspects of your life, enhancing your work and personal life; and it doesn’t have to be complicated. Even just 5 minutes a day makes a difference!

In summary, Breathwork is a powerful tool in the quest for work-life balance.

In a fast paced world, it’s easy to feel stressed, and consciously breathing can help you find more harmony between your professional and personal life.

You’ll find yourself making better choices, have more space to make decisions, and even have a better understanding of yourself and appreciation for who you are and what you offer; it will truly enhance every aspect of your life!
